The City of Moab not only generates electricity with five roof-top solar arrays and offsets some of our electric power with Blue Sky solar credits, we are committed to 100% net renewable electricity by 2030! Simultaneously, we are working to improve the efficiency of the City's buildings to save on bills and reduce the renewable energy we need to generate. Residents are invited to participate in becoming more efficient as we approach the goal of 100%. Read on for more information about the City's efforts and opportunities to join.

• The City of Moab in an anchor of the Utah Renewable Communities. This is a group of communities that have committed to becoming net-100% renewable by 2030. Grand County and Castle Valley are also members. The Community Renewable Energy Act (HB 411) was passed by the Utah Legislature in 2019 authorized the next steps to define the rules, rates, and expectations for participating communities. • In 2023, the City collaborated with SERDA and community-based organizations on a Buildings UP prize to expand the weatherization opportunities available in Grand County.
• Resources are also available to help residents save on utility bills.
