Responsibilities

This department is responsible for personnel functions of the city, the preparation and administration of the city's annual budget, coordination among all city departments on a wide variety of issues, coordination with outside agencies, and daily public relations activities. City Manager

The City Manager manages the day-to-day operations and internal affairs of the city and develops policies, procedures, and processes to implement the decisions of the City Council. The City Manager also advises the Mayor and City Council on policy issues and is the primary contract negotiator for all agreements and property-related transactions for the city. The City Manager coordinates all legal issues with the City Attorney. The City Manager also serves as personnel director and maintains a positive and effective work environment for 60 regular and 30 seasonal employees.

Administrative Services Director

The Administrative Services Director works in coordination with the Treasurer and the Recorder, and is responsible for managing and protecting city assets through responsible management of City monies, development of efficient financial procedures, compliance monitoring, and analysis to meet short- and long-term City goals. 

Executive Administrative Assistant

The Executive Administrative Assistant is the first contact for the public as they enter City Hall. This key position handles phone inquiries of all varieties.

Communications and Engagement Manager

The City of Moab's Communications and Engagement Manager collaborates with area residents, and informs and educates our community about City government services, projects, events, and activities. The Communications Manager is the City's public information officer and also serves as the direct contact for all media inquiries.

The City of Moab's Sustainability Director works to integrate environmental, social, and economic considerations into the city's plans, programs and actions. The Sustainability Director helps lead efforts that will support our thriving, resilient, equitable, and inclusive community, and foster a high quality of life, a healthy environment, and a stable economy.

Transit Coordinator

The City of Moab's Transit Coordinator oversees the contract for the Moab Area Transit (MAT) Pilot Program. This pilot program provides on-demand microtransit service providing door-to-door transportation to and from any location within the broader service area, and fixed-route fare-free transit service throughout downtown Moab. MAT provides residents and visitors with more options for day-to-day transportation in Moab. Transportation will be provided using comfortable MAT-branded 12-passenger vans.
